HELENTE R1 Cockpit
Description
Who this cockpit is for
R1 is for sim drivers who want to step up from a desk or a simple wheel stand to a real aluminum cockpit, but don’t want the biggest and most expensive rig. It works both with simpler and more serious direct drive bases, and with basically any pedals. It’s a great fit if you build your setup yourself and you care about a clean look and a solid feel. For most home simulators, R1 is the best balance between strength, price, and flexibility.
What problem it solves
Desk-mounted wheels and cheap wheel stands or cockpits flex and wobble while driving, especially once you move to more serious equipment. R1 fixes that. The 80x40 profile base frame, with reinforced wheel and pedal mounts, keeps your equipment stable so you can focus on driving and training, instead of being distracted by a shaky rig. The universal pedal and wheel plates are compatible with most brands and let you test, adjust, and upgrade without changing the whole frame.
How it works in your setup
R1 comes without accessories, but with the mounting points for a seat, pedals, and a wheelbase. Accessories like adjustable feet, a keyboard tray, or shifter and handbrake mounts can be added later – when you actually need them. The pedal plate is designed so you can mount seat sliders directly under the plate, turning your pedals into a sliding system without extra add-ons.
The 80x40 base keeps the rig lighter and easier to move than larger-profile rigs, while still giving enough rigidity for serious driving. The design is straight and simple, so assembly is quick and clear, and you don’t have to mess around with corner brackets at every joint.
When R1 is not the best choice
If you plan to add a motion system, choose HELENTE X with a 160x40 base – that will ensure maximum rigidity everywhere.
If you want the feet and shifter/handbrake mount included in the price, the X cockpit will be a better long-term option.
If you only use a basic entry wheel on a desk and drive rarely, this rig is more than you need.
Tips from HELENTE
Add seat sliders under the pedal plate – you’ll be able to easily adjust your seating position for different wheelbases or for different people.
Choose R1 if you want a serious rig now but you’re not sure about motion yet. If you already know you’ll add motion at some point – go straight for X.
